Match report

[LaG] starts the match by immediately running their first flag in on Better Call Saul and pushing up to snare Voodoo Mon Amour, who has [CHEAT]'s first flag. Better Call Saul splits off to the back of [CHEAT]'s base after capping, with Cute Dome Oo going to join him. [CHEAT] has a bit of a delayed response to [LaG]'s split, with Run The World eventually heading back, allowing Saul and Dome to quickly kill both of [CHEAT]'s Knights uncontested at 1:30.

Run The World is joined in the base by Care Bear Newty, prompting Saul and Dome to collapse back to the main team. This collapse does not work at all, though, with Saul running in behind [CHEAT]'s team and getting quickly spiked out (he eats a Bull's Strike) by Portu, Mamphfli, and Honk at 2:25. The two teams continue fighting in front of [CHEAT]'s base after Saul gets rezzed, but he is again spiked out at 3:06, followed by Menik dying moments later at 3:12. Both players get rezzed, but [LaG] has now used up all of their rezzes and Menik gets killed again at 3:26, followed by Aerox dying at 3:34. With two players down, [LaG] is unable to secure a boost they desperately need and were in position to achieve a little over 30 seconds ago.

The situation becomes even worse for [LaG], who don't seem to feel the need to immediately fall back to their base, with Cute Dome Qo getting killed exactly at 4:00 after the resurrection timer has passed. Real Is On Fire dies at 4:23 and Bloodred Unspoken dies at 5:17 in a solo flag-push attempt. [LaG] is known for their excellent Monks and their ability to stay alive so well as a team, but in this match you really have to question Menik's skillbar and the way he has played. Most of the spikes that have gone through this match happened while he was casting Shield Guardian, a skill not normally on his bar. Shielding Hands is usually in that spot instead, a skill which is widely considered a must-have in team builds these days and certainly helps to stop spikes, especially when you don't have Reversal of Fortune or some kind of anti-spike Elite on your Protection Monk.

[LaG] is able to stabilize in front of their base after the team rezzes at 6:00, with Cute Dome Oo running out through the back of the base and taking the portal route to split into [CHEAT]'s base at 7:00. Nobody on the opposing team feels the need to respond to this split right away, Voodoo Mon Amour is standing in the middle of the map holding the flag when his team already has flagstand capped and has already boosted, allowing Dome to kill [CHEAT]'s Bodyguard before Voodoo eventually gets back to the base. After the Bodyguard drops, Dome and Voodoo remain in [CHEAT]'s base neutralizing each other for a long while, with their teams both content to fight each other 7v7 around the middle of the map.

[LaG] continues to aggressively flagpush in this 7v7 situation, going for a morale boost. Their efforts are ultimately unsuccessful, with Aerox dying at 9:25 and Saul taking his third death of the match at 9:35. [LaG] changes their strategy after rezzing at 10:00 and makes a HUGE play, sending both Saul and Bloodred into the front of [CHEAT]'s base to join Dome, while Saints and Menik block the entrance into the base. Now having to defend against 3 characters by himself, Voodoo is quickly killed and [LaG]'s offensive split jumps on [CHEAT]'s Guild Lord to try and end the game.

Unfortunately for [LaG], Run The World has wisely run around the back way into her base (Aerox attempts to snare her but isn't in range to use Mirror of Ice and gets mostly thwarted by Mampfli) and is able to save the Guild Lord from dying at 11:45, when it was down to only 10% health! [LaG]'s entire backline starts crumbling right after 12:00 at [CHEAT]'s front base entrance, still trying to hold the body block, and most of the remaining [LaG] players are dispatched of shortly thereafter. With nothing standing in their way now, [CHEAT] runs across the map into [LaG]'s base and kills the Guild Lord at 13:25.
